Helo yufula
We can't download photos yet - this will have to wait until we get set up in Norsup next week. So far things have been better than expected ... we are not finding the weather too much of a problem and the VSA people have been terrific. We have started learning the bislama language and have been experimenting in public. One local was a bit confused today when he asked if I wanted to buysome bawbaw (paw paw) and I started talking about my bobo (grandchildren) Wasn't able to sell any which was probably fortunate given there would be quite a long delivery time.
We had 12 bags shipped to Malekula yesterday on quite an interesting looking ship - the loaders turned the loading into a game and really seemed to enjoy the task.
We have been told to expect quite a welcome when we arrive at Malekula - apparently they are very excited about getting their first volunteer.
We are off to the opening of a kindi this afternoon and then we go to the market to practice our bislama - who knows what we will end up buying!

Getting Married - 6 March 2010

Many might think this was the ideal wedding! Didn't have to get dressed up, some didn't even know a wedding was on the agenda and ..... no speeches. Can't get much better - least I thought so. For us it was a great day, just what we wanted. We had a few hiccups - had to get the Marriage Celebrant to drive around the block because we weren't quite ready - a change from the bride doing it
Too late now, you've already said yes
