We have made our first Malekula friend! This is Karen who is a volunteer with Peace Corps and has been working on Malekula for over a year. She is a teacher-trainer and we were lucky enough to catch up with her while she has been holidaying in New Zealand. Already we have started working with her - she is going to arrange to have a canoe built for us all when she gets back to Malekula. It will be an Outrigger so Maryann won't fall out and it will be safe for us to go fishing and visiting nearby islands.
